No. "Carpal" refers to the bones in the hands. Carpal tunnel syndrome only affects from the wrist/s forward to the fingers and nowhere else. Believe me, I know because I had it as well as the surgery in both hands to correct it.

Can acupuncture Cure carpal tunnel syndrome?

This is impossible to answer.Classical or traditional Cchinese acupuncture treats the dynamic body as a whole and not a symtom (CTS).But expereince tells us that: Yes, it might well cure your problem. But nothing can be said as to the length of treatment. If it is accompanied by Tui Na (chinese physiotherpay) then acupuncture would stand a very good chance of curing CTS but it will probably not work on its own ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most reputable medical experts would say no...acupuncture and massage therapy and yoga etc..have been studied over the years and none of them have proven to "cure" carpal tunnel syndrome. Can they relieve carpal tunnel symptoms? absolutley!..how much depends on the cause of your CTS and how severe of a case you have, your age, how long have you had it before treatment etc...

Had neck surgery two years ago and now your right hand is going numb what causes that?

When my left hand started going numb I went to the doctor and she told me I had carpal tunnel. The thing about it was that my whole hand wasn't going numb it was just my first four fingers and I didn't feel any numbness in my pinkie finger.

Do I need a lawyer for my carpal tunnel claim?

You may not, it just depends on your work comp states law and your company's insurance. First of all it has to be determined to be work related from your job. Then you have to show/prove that you have an impairment (typically determined after carpal tunnel surgery by a specialist) If your are given an impairment rating, say of 5% to the right hand, then this is typically given a dollar amount based on your job/occupation etc..for your state. They will either offer you a lump sum settlement and closed medicals ie you can't come back for more money for treatment..or give you a smaller settlement with open medicals ie you can continue to get treatment as needed. Note that your lawyer will get 25-33% of your settlement off of the top, so if you can settle with your company etc..you might come out better,BUT if they are low balling you, then you may need to get an attorney..but he/she will need to get at least 25-33% more settlement just to break even..and obtaining an attorney can delay the whole case, sometimes by years because the company will play hard ball as well. Keep in mind many people have CTS (carpal tunnel syndrome) and or the surgery w/o any impairment! (ie you are better and there is no residual weakness/symptoms etc..)

What is a good for carpal tunnel settlement in ill?

That really can't be answered here..because every state has different work comp laws and there are different impairment ratings and such for the whole arm and hand so every case is a case by case situation. It can depend on your job and whether you can go back to that job and be fully functional vs restricted work.

What are some risks of machine vibrations?

Machine vibrations can be divided into two different types; hand-arm vibrations (e.g. by operating hand tools such as chainsaws) and whole body vibrations (e.g. prolonged lengths of time being seated in a fork-lift truck driven over bumpy surfaces, or standing on a vibrating weight loss machine). Hand-arm vibrations can cause such diseases as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome as well as more non-specific Hand-Arm Vibration Syndromes. Whole-body vibrations can cause painful injuries to the back, to cartilage damage. There is also some concern that intensive whole-body vibrations could cause brain damage although this is not yet any scientific proof for this.
