Technically, yes. Modern breeds of cats are thought to be decendents of the African Wild cat. Long ago, people domesticated cats from this breed of wild cat, and all kinds of breeds have been created from this one cat. But the breeds you know today, like Persians and Siamese, aren't directly desendents of A. Wildcats. They've been bred for CENTURIES, so they aren't really close relatives.

It is very unlikely to be able to tame a adult wild cat who is unused to human contact. Feral cats are difficult to tame, but it is possible as they often live in places populated by humans, so may come to trust one with a lot of patience. A wild cat will always be wild, however.

oh...heck ya. Get a cat trap, one that will NOT hurt them, and make sure it wont, even on accident. Or if you have any ferrel cats in your neighboorhood, what i have done is i had a lone mother, whom was ferrel, but very sweet and didnt mind being touched. Her litter of 3 were not very welcoming. But the first 2 tabbies were used to me fast enough. The hardest one was mittens, a little silver/gray tabby male with white paws, he was so cute! But i eventually gained his trust, and that lightning fast cat soon became a lazy, fat male later on in life. ^~^

Wild cats are species that live in the wild, not feral domestic cats. True wild cats cannot be domesticated. Most domestic animals took hundreds or thousands of years to be domesticated. The domestic dog, domestic cat, cattle and other livestock are a few examples. No one has seen a need to domesticate most wild cats as they would provide no benefits to humans.

A pet cat is not a wild animal.

The key word there is "pet". In general, cats are wild animals, but domesticated pet cats are not.

There are 37 species of cat and all are wild except the domestic cat. Even the domestic cat can revert to the wild with a single generation.
