Is it proper to open up gift cards to see the amount?
June 07, 2007 11:13PM
This answer is assuming it was given to you as a gift. Well, Yes and No. While the person is there, no. The only thing that actually matters is where it came from. Once they're gone, time to look at the $$$s.

Should you ask a professional aquaintance to open a gift in front of you?
* The proper etiquette when receiving a gift is the receiver should thank the giver and open the gift. However, since this is a professional acquaintance and you may be in a working environment they may not wish to open the gift immediately, but they should let you know if they like the gift or give you a card of thanks.

What is the Significance if opening the smallest of gifts?
In the Western cultures there is no tradition where the bride has to open the smallest gift. They say 'good things come in small packages.' It could also mean that by opening the smaller gift or gifts does not make the bride and groom look greedy. Just open the first gift closest to you and be sure that someone is writing on the wedding card along with the gift what gift that person gave so when you write out your Thank You cards you know what gift what guest gave.

How do you open a gift on Habbo?
Open up your hand and click the gift. Put it on a square in your room. Double click the gift. A Label should appear. That is the message someone has sent to you. There will be two options under the message. 'Open the present' and 'X'. Choose Open the present and the present will disappear and your hand will re-open. You have opened a gift!

Asked in Weddings
Do you bring a wedding gift to the reception?
The reception area will have a table set up for wedding gifts or cards with money or gift certificates in it and all wedding gifts should be left at the reception. Most newly married couples do not open the gifts at the reception and some may have a 'gift opening' at their home for guests to come too, but if nothing is said about it at the reception then the bride and groom will open the gifts at home and eventually send out thank you notes to their guests.
