Of course gays have the right to fight for the right to marry and enjoy all the legal rights that marriage bestows. Rights of every category have been won by people who are willing to fight for them. The right to vote, the right to an equal education, the right to be apprised of your rights, the Bill of Rights: all had hard working people diligently pressing forth to make those rights available to all people. Rights for huge populations are often won through the work of a few dedicated people willing to sacrifice their own time, work and sometimes safety.
