Yes, rabbits can eat watermelon (fruit and rind, but not seeds), and they love it, but it's not good for them.

If your rabbits eat too many sweets (and they will, if you let them: rabbits LOVE sugary plants), any number of heath complications will result that can be fatal.

Rabbits should eat a diet of mostly hay, with some fresh greens and pellets daily. Treats should be strictly limited: a couple bites every couple days should be fine, assuming your bunny is otherwise healthy and eating a healthy diet.

See the related questions and links below for more info.

another answer: you can't give your rabbit a watermelon

They can. But the rabbit might dislike it. Some rabbits love watermelon and some are just not up for it.

They like it.

Watermelon isn't part of a rabbit's natural diet. It's sweet and yummy, so they will eat it, but it's not healthy for them. Too much will make them sick.

If you have a pet rabbit, a bite of watermelon is a nice treat!

You cannot give hamsters watermelon because the water content is too high thust causing diarrhea. If it got or has diarrhea, feed it some raspberry leaves which should help it. If you need to know more about foods for hamsters, go onine and go on this website:

roborovskihamsters.webs.com/feeding.htm

and read all about it. Also, that website is mainly for roborovski hamsters but the food is mostly the same for all hamsters.

Good luck!

Watermelon skin, like most fruit skins that people don't eat, are usually covered in pesticides, dirt, and other bad things. If you're going to give any to your rabbit to eat, you should make sure it's organic, or else wash it first with a vegetable soap (this is NOT the same as dish soap or other soaps -- only wash food with vegetable soap, because otherwise the soap gets into the food itself, and it's not safe to eat).

Aside from the pesticides, watermelon skin is fine for rabbits to eat as a treat. Too many treats will make a rabbit sick. The House Rabbit Society recommends no more than 2 tablespoons of treat food per day for a healthy, normal 6 pound rabbit.

Is it safe to smoke marijuana around rabbits?

They cannot eat the leaves of the plant, but they can eat the flower (aka Bud) and the stems. Rabbits eat marijuana in the wild. I wouldn't feed rabbits marijuana as domestic rabbits are nothing like wild rabbits, they have evolved differently. http://www.adoptarabbit.com/articles/toxic.html

Is watermelon rind healthy for rabbits?

No, watermelon (rind and fruit) isn't healthy for rabbits. It's too high in sugar (even the rind), and not high enough in healthy nutrients. Sometimes watermelon is good, sometimes it is okay. Watermelon is a treat. Treats (like fresh fruits, carrot) should be limited to a bite every couple of days (assuming your rabbit can handle them and doesn't get diarrhea; and otherwise is eating a healthy diet). Watermelon is an especially sugary treat so it should be especially limited. Rabbits eat a diet mostly of hay. They also eat some high quality pellets, and should have access to fresh water. Fresh greens can become a part of your rabbit's diet slowly (too much too quickly can result in digestive problems). See the related question about the rabbit diet below.
