Can you freeze raw oysters in the shell?
Nov 25, 2009
I've gathered hundreds of oysters over the past 15 years - as a significant food source! Freezing oyster plus shell, is a major waste of space! Shuck the oyster, saving the juice, Combine the meat and juice, putting them into a zip lock bag.
Boil the shells, to kill off any periwinkles, limpets, krell. Let the shells dry, store in an open container. They will then be ready to be used as serving dishes
You would be surprised at how many sea food restaurants "recycle" their oyster shells, many times!
Be sure any oysters / clams are collected from waters free of PSP (paralytic shellfish poisoning) Gulf of Mexico shellfish / clams / oysters are now on a major Federal food watch.
I don't know. But I did eat a can of them 72 hours prior to this posting, with no ill effects.
can you eat raw oysters that have been canned
I think that it depends on what your body can handle.....if you regularly eat raw oysters, then no.
for some people they like to eat them raw but if not fry them.
No farm raised oysters are not safe to eat goto youtube and look it up
Not at all...
Yes.
yup
If they weren't safe they wouldn't be permitted to include them
If you have to ask, don't eat it.
Absolutely! Unopened, it can be kept up to the expiration date marked on the can.
It is a good idea to avoid all raw seafood during pregnancy. Sushi, oysters etc.
yes, when it is canned its safe to eat, unless the top is bulging , or there is an outward hiss when opened . The can should suck air in when opened . If not then you should not eat it .
Yes, I have given my dog green beans.
Yes, smoked oysters are indeed cooked through a smoking process. A cooked oyster will be firm to the touch which means it is safe to eat.
NO as in heck NO
