I was wondering the same thing ... Because I just bought a pint of ice cream at the store, and we had a power outtage from 5:30 pm to 2:00 am ... I seriously doubt they restocked the ice cream ... I'll let you know.

It isn't a good idea to eat salmon that is in this situation. The spoilage danger is low, but there is a good chance it will not taste good.

Raw meat, whether venison or beef or any other type, can be frozen once. If frozen raw meat is thawed, it should be cooked and eaten, or cooked and refrozen. Once cooked venison is thawed it should not be refrozen.

Can a fully cooked ham be safely refrozen?

Yes, ham that is fully cooked can be safely refrozen. Once thawed again, it will have the same number of days left to be eaten as when it went into the freezer; for example if you cook ham on January 1, it could be safely refrigerated until January 7. If you refreeze on January 3; once thawed it will be safe to eat for 4 days. Be sure to wrap it properly to prevent freezer burn, loss of taste and texture.

Can you refreeze a thawed turkey breast?

If it was thawed in a fridge, it can safely be refrozen. The overall taste and texture may be affected, but is probabably better than wasting it.

Can beef steak be thawed and refrozen?

If you are asking if it OK to use, you will have to make that decision. You know how the meat was handled, stored, defrosted and refrozen. If you have doubts about its safety, throw it out.

What temperature should frozen food be thawed?

You should probably keep it in a freezer from 10 degrees to about -15 degrees but i am in 6th grade and that is what my freezer says. Normally -18 to -22. is standard keep safe temperature range.

Refrigerator left open for 2 days is the food from freezer bad?

That depends how warm the food got in the freezer. If it didn't get above 40°F, it is probably safe. If the food is all thawed out and warm, throw it out. If you are unsure, don't eat it.

Is it safe to eat refrozen pork or chicken?

Freezer was turned off by mistake twice. What happens if you freeze meat twice can I get samonella when you go cook it is it safe to eat?

If the contents of the freezer have thawed out - EVEN ONCE - because it was turned off our there was a power cut, then the food IS NOT SAFE TO EAT and should be thrown out. However if the contents remained frozen (the freezer will stay cold for a few hours) then the food should be OK.

You bought thawed raw turkey patties home and refrigerated 3 hours later you put the patties in the freezer Is this safe?

If the meat was thawed under refrigeration and you kept it under refrigeration (except for the short trip home from grocery) for only 3 hours before freezing it, it should be safe. The caveat is that you might not know how the meat was thawed or how long it has been thawed. It sounds like you handled the product all right, but we don't know if the store handled it properly.

Can a thawed spaghetti and sausage sauce be refrozen?

Yes, you shouldn't have any problem with this. I don't think I'd do it if the spaghetti sauce was made with clams or poultry but if it's vegetarian or beef-based, you should be fine.

Can you refreeze chicken thats been thawed in water?

It isn't generally safe to refreeze raw food. This is especially true for chicken, which is contaminated with salmonella at scary-high rates. If the chicken has thawed, it isn't generally safe to refreeze it and eat it later. This is especially true if it is thawed in room-temperature water rather than being thawed in the refrigerator. Once thawed, the chicken should be cooked fairly quickly. Once cooked, it can then be frozen for later consumption.
