Cats are neutred all the time. Vets are very skilled in doing this safely. It's actually better to have your cat fixed because it means your cat isn't out making more cats. Thousands of kittens are unwanted and eventually have to be euthanised. Fixing your pet means they aren't contributing to the overpopulation.
