Well yes it is. But as for me I only fed her when I think maybe I should. Or I'd wait for a weird noise from her. Also my first one ate itself to death. Too much food. I would say feed it once a day maybe twice. Feeding at a good time like around noon to 2:00pm.
Gerbils can (and should) live with a gerbil friend or two of the same sex--that's it. No other animal is safe to live with a gerbil in the same cage or tank.
Yes, as long as the cage is placed somewhere safe in your room and out of direct sunlight.
No, they will chew endlessly on anything put in their environment and will inadvertently ingest pieces of nylon.
Probably just in the same way as a non pregnant gerbil. Make sure she feels safe and secure in her cage and do not pick her up as it may harm the babies. Do not put too much woodshavings into the cage incase she gives birth because they might not be able to breathe and they may get buried and then die.
No, it is not safe to leave food unattended when there is a bear outside the tent.
It can damge gerbils, do not feed gerbils any leaves unless you know they are safe, look ate the links for list of safe gerbel food
NO!! Washing your gerbils with water can give it several diseases. Few gerbils survive baths. If you would like to bathe your gerbil, buy Chinchilla Dust (made from volcanic ash, is safe) and put it in a container for your gerbils to run around in. If your gerbil HAS to get something off (like a sticky residue from food) you can use the very tip of a slightly damp cloth but IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS make sure to dry your gerbil off COMPLETELY. Also, I would recommend getting a new, better gerbil book (like the Discovery Channel one)
THERE IS NO OUTDOOR WEATHER SAFE FOR A GERBIL! If your gerbil is outside, it can run away or get eaten by a hawk or something! Maybe if you put it in a ball outside in the spring or fall, but you'll need to stay with it the entire time it is outside. But putting a gerbil outside unprotected is really dangerous, even if you are right there.
(there is a lot to do to keep a hamster cage safe so read carefully) you can keep the cage safe by keeping sharp objects out and away from the cage, keeping other breeds/younger hamsters out of the cage(unless the little ones are its babies and unless one type of breed lives in there.), putting safe food in(hamster food from pet stores, a tiny piece of fruit once in a while, yogurt drops, etc) putting in fresh water, keeping it in a calm environment, giving it a wheel, and keeping other pets away(especially cats and dogs) .
It is save as long as the weather is not to hot outside, and most of all make sure the ball cage is really tide so he wont go off running on you.....
Pita bread would be OK for a gerbil. As long as it is unsweetened and unsalted.
To provide a safe outdoor environment for your cats using a cage, ensure the cage is secure and escape-proof, placed in a shaded area to avoid overheating, and equipped with food, water, and comfortable bedding. Regularly check the cage for any wear and tear, and supervise your cats while they are in the outdoor cage to prevent any potential dangers.
