Yes, you can. Their bite is strong enough to cut through human flesh, however, they're not known to bite humans. Make sure you grab them by the muscular plate below their head and not their abdomen though - their abdomen is very sensitive and they can potentially become frightened and grab you with their spiny claws if you do so.
