It's not bad for you as long as you do it for a limited time only. You can dose yourself with 800 every 4-6 hrs for about a month without having any bad affects on your health. Always try to follow the directions on the bottle before jumping to 4 ibuprofen at a time.

You should always seek a doctor's expert advice regarding any medicine. Dosage should be followed by doctor's instructions. You should never take it on a empty stomach and it is a medication not advisable for Asthmatics as far as I know from my own experience. Again, seek medical advice from your family doctor.
