Yes, traveling to Colombia is Safe

People usually don't go there because their afraid of being kidnapped, so here are some tips you might want to consider:

-Try to fit into the community. Colombian people get along with each other but evil people usually target american/wealthy tourists so try to be as colombian as possible, its no big deal but u might want to consider it.

-Stay in big cities or touristic locations. Every day there are fewer places in which terrorist groups live; however, they still live in uncivilized places, so if u go to those places, it is risky. If you stay in big cities or touristic locations were a lot of security is present, there is nothing to worry about.

-Know where you're going. If you're going out of large cities, some highways aren't very safe, so if you know exactly were you want to go, chose the best route. There are couple of Colombian road atlases that give pretty good tips about this.

As long as you follow these 3 tips, you'll be fine in Colombia. I think that Colombia is awesome, and I really think interested people like you should go there.
