Its a grey area where manufacturers of these cleaners are trying to get around EPA regulations. As for Mildew, mildew is a grime (dirt) not mold.
Hello, ive been a scientist for over 10 years and ive seen many projects done by students. One project that involves Borax a laundry detergent is forming crystals or snowflakes. Borax contains sodium which is salt so Borax can make crystals under heat. Borax is known to be used as laundry detrgent. So i hope this helped thank you for reading.
Yes, it can, and it inhibits regrowth! I don't know the strength, though. I do know that when we applied a slurry of water and Borax to our front stoop (cement) to keep out ants, the mildew disappeared over the next couple of days. It has not returned, and it has been several months now. I live on the north side of the building, and my door is almost constantly in the shade. The mildew would have returned by now normally. I don't think such a strong concentration of Borax is necessary, but I am going to make a pretty strong (but liquid) solution to treat the sidewalk now that my stoop has stayed white for so long. I did a search and found this: 1/4 cup Borax in 2 cups water. Do a search with the words "borax" and "mildew" and you should come up with quite a bit of information. Good luck!
The over all equation is, 2HCl + Na2B4O7.10H2O = H2B4O7 + 2NaCl + 10 H2O
The fruit I placed in the mold, once the Jello had finally congealed, was at the top after i flipped the mold over.
no it must be cleaned first- you can use some bleach or any mold cleaner let it dry well to see how deep it is set in- then add a primer paint- if it bleeds through again you may need to re do it- there are mold drywall cleaners- if this is in a bathroom use t.s.p so the paint will stick if need be-it must be cleaned right the first time
yes it can also kill people over 14 years old

Molds and stains are tricky. The first thing to determine is why the mold is growing there. Typically this would mean there are problems with moisture and humidity in that area. That might require better ventilation, or fixing plumbing problems. Paint can kill many types of mold, but if the root problem is not corrected, it could come back. You might want to consult a lawyer about this.

Yes, but you should scuff the gloss coat with sandpaper first, and you might need two coats to kill all the shine.
Wood fencing does in fact mold easier. Mostly due to the fact that it is constantly in contact with the outside world and things such as rain weaken it and make it susceptible to things such as mold over time. It may last longer if you paint and prime your fence in order to give it a seal and some protection.
The bacteria forms mold over time and that mold starts to get fuzzier over time.
I would highly suggest that the surface to be painted be stripped & cleansed with bleach first, as any leftover mold could eventually redeveop and spread. Chances are that even repainting over a moldy surface will oonly hide other issues that need to be addressed, such as leaky pipes or improper ventilation.
