Just buy the Fender instead of the Squier. From the description, you're probably looking at a Fender '72 Telecaster Deluxe, with two "wide range" humbuckers and four control knobs.
You can modify a Squier, but the cost of the modifications and the parts will probably exceed the cost of the guitar. And there is never any guarantee that the resulting sound will be good until you've already paid for and completed the modification. Also, a Squier depreciates in value pretty much the second you take it out of the store. A Fender, even a Mexican one, will hold its value better.
When in doubt, just buy the guitar that already has the sound and feel you want.
According to Squier it features Custom-Designed Humbuckers.
The first Fender Stratocaster was designed in 1954 by Leo Fender, George Fullerton, and Freddie Tavares.
Either take it into a Local music shop or go on Google and look up Fender Squier Strat serial numbers and punch in the number for instance with my 1994 Fender Mexican Stratocaster i would go on Google type in "fender Mexican stratocaster serial numbers" and it would pull up a Fender.com and i would look since mine is MN352234 I would look for "MN3+ 5 digits1993-1994" and i would find out that my guitar is either a 1993 or 1994 Fender Mexican Stratocaster Hope this helps Jesse Craig.
This guitar was made in 2007 in Indonesia.
Starcasters tend to come with odder parts and are made out of cheaper materials. So in the end it actually depends on what Squier model you want. Most of the time Squier > Starcaster
According to Squier it features Custom-Designed Humbuckers.
2004
1993-94
yes, you can reaplace the pickguard to fit humbuckers but there are also humbuckers at the size of a single coil pickup like the Seymour duncan hot rails.

The Squier Telecaster should be readily available in local music shops which would allow one the opportunity to try the guitar, and can be located in Yellow Pages. Online they are sold by Amazon and the Musician's Friend websites.

Yes, Fender owns and makes Squier. It's like Gibson and Epiphone.
it depends if your a beginner i would go with the squier because the stratocaster is more advanced
Because Fender owns and makes Squier. You should know that.
The Squier brand is owned by Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, it was purchased in 1965. The brand name Squier was not used by Fender until 1982.
