No, only the Amazon Kindle has text to speech so it can read back books. Though Barnes and Noble can release a software update that gives the Nook this feature.
no
A nook and a kindle are the same thing that do the same things. HOWEVER... one has more than the other. If you are interested about the books rather than just the 3G features and games and such, the nook (by Barnes and Noble) has more than 2 million books available, some of them are even free. The Kindle (by Amazon) only has around 700,000. The kindle has free 3G everywhere you go that connects to the internet, but the nook has 3G for buying books in its store. The nook also has a lending feature so you can borrow or lend books that you buy, and even check out books from the library from the comfort of your couch.
Yes, you can transfer e-books purchased from Barnes & Noble to your Kindle device using a USB connection to move the files from your computer to your Kindle. You'll need to download the e-book in ePub format and use a program like Calibre to convert it to a compatible format for Kindle.
No, the Nook cannot read out loud to you. But the NookColor has that capability w/ some children's books.
I own the nook 3g (not the nookCOLOR) and I love it not only is it only $149 but it is wi-fi compatible and easy to buy books considering it is hooker up straight to barnes and nobles, I recommend the nook 3g because even the people who work at barnes and nobles will tell you the NookColor has a very bad glare and you cannot read it in direct sunlight like the Nook 3g I hope this helps make your decision!
it only reads in childrens books
No you cannot text on the nook color it only gives you books on how to text
The Nook (or NOOK) is an ereader under the Barnes and Nobles label using Android opensource. The original Nook has either 3g (through ATT) or Wifi. Current models include the Color, Simple Touch, and the Wifi-only tablet.
you can either download ebooks with the bookstore app on your nook with wifi. Another way is to download the nook application for desktop, its free. When you go to Barnes and Noble website you can download ebooks, which go into the Nook App. When you connect your nook to your computer it will give you the option to upload the ebooks to it. Good luck :)
you can only do it for picture books
You CANNOT put iTunes on a Nook, period. iTunes files can be burned onto a CD, or put onto an iPod, iPhone or iPad or listened to on your computer. That's the extent of the devices that can run iTunes.
