I believe that any light that is on your car has to work by law.
already changed brake switch but cant shift form P
There is either a burnt out fuse, or a problem with your brake light switch, located under the dash connected to brake peddle arm.
THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH IS NOT PUTTING OUT BATTERY WHENEVER THE BRAKE PEDAL IS PUSHED DOWN. CHECK TO SEE IF BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS PUSHED DOWN. IF BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON, THEN YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SHIFT IT OUT OF PARK. IF NO BRAKE LIGHTS, THEN IT WON'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. IF THIS IS THE CASE, THEN REPLACE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH.
i do not know what type of vehicle you have, but most brake light switches are located behind the brake pedal. Ive not seen a switch yet that cant be accessed from under the dash just stick your head down by the brake pedal and look up you should see it where the brake pedal rests.
Do your brake lights work? Possible problem: -Brake Light Fuse -Brake Switch -Solenoid Can you hear a click from the shifter area when you have the key on and push on the brakes? If you cant hear the click then something could be wrong with the solenoid or the brake light switch. Check your brake lights, do they work? If the cable was hard to move and now cant be moved then it maybe bad. Open the fuse box and see if there is a fuse for the stoplight circuit. If not check under the hood. You probably have a stupid short circuit somewhere causing this. Check for 12 volts into and out of the brake light switch. Then trace the 12-volt power. (The shift lock and the brake light switch are one and the same.)
check the brake light fuse in the dash by your left knee, if it blows, cant shift park
sory to brake the news to you but you cant sory to brake the news to you but you cant
Most likely has a leak somewhere in the line, or the switch in the parking brake petal is bad. my switch went bad, just removed the bulb, cheap fix
you cant really avoid the points unless its an emergency and you have to move for an ambulance, fire brigades or police but just try your best not to go on a red light
Check the brake light fuse. This year Ford trucks have a safety mechanism that prevents shifting out of park without pushing the brake pedal. If a brake lamp or trailer wiring is damaged can it blow the fuse and it won't allow a shift from park.
most likely the brake light switch, they are adjustable and can be a little tricky to put in if youre not familiar with them bring it to a mechanic. It is directly above the brake pedal, must be extended all the way out and pedal cant be depressed when installing
i have a 72 nova and the left turn signal blinks faster than the right what is my problem
