China relaxed the One Child Policy in 2015.
Chinese are only allowed one child BECAUSE China is crowded.
Chinese couples are officially restricted to one child although it allows exemptions for several cases, including rural couples, ethnic minorities, and parents who are only children themselves. Roughly the policy only applies to 35% of the population.
Each Chinese family is allowed only 1 child due to the population and lack of inhabitable land.
It means that a Chinese couple that lives in urban area only has the right to give birth to only one child.
They just passed a law that Chinese couples can only have one child.
They can only have one child in China because there is such a large population there.

76% of Chinese people approve of the one-child policy.
It is popular. However, it doesn't apply to everyone. If you are married to someone who is an only child and you are an only child, you are allowed to have two children. Most Chinese people I have met here prefer to have only one child though as they feel like it would be too tiring to take care of more than one child. Also, I learn that if you are allowed to have two children, you may give up your right to have a second child and another family that is only allowed one child can buy the right to have a second child.
The law in china is that a person may only have one child (to help reduce the population). While most people obey the law, it would appear that some people try to conceal second children by a variety of means.
Boys. Since the Chinese are only allowed one child, they prefer to have a boy to carry on the family name.
