The Allies won the Battle of Britain. Pilots came from more than just Great Britain; there were Polish pilots, pilots from all over the Empire.
There have been many depictions of American pilots (The USA stayed out of the war at this time) either pretending to be Canadian, or just volunteering to help the Allies.
