I love art and I do it as a hobby and for certain friends. It soothes the soul. I believe we are led by something to express ourselves in our artwork and it's certainly a passion. I saw a program where a 12 year old girl (she started drawing at age 4 like a good artist) was drawing pictures of heaven and Jesus and it was awesome! It was the most beautiful artwork I'd seen and something had to be driving her to do this so easily. Imagine ... 12 years old!
AnswerAll artists must have something to inspire them to create. For some it is a garden, some a person; it is different for everyone. For some it is even God. However, artists' muses aren't like the muses in ancient myth. It is just what always provides inspiration and ideas. AnswerSimply, yes it is true, and they are exactly like the muses in ancient Greece, it is what separates true artists (very rare) from those with no original imagination.I'd just like to add all children are great artists up until that point they feel the need to draw and paint like adults. Picasso, who was pretty academic as a child, luckily learnt to listen to his muse.

It depends on which ones your talking about. In some stories, there are only 3 muses and they were born 1 from the movements of the water, 1 from the wind and 1 from human voices. Then there are the 12 muses which are most commonly what is believed, they were born from when Pegasus landed on Helicon.
fragging troublemakers.. they cloud the mens minds.
The muses where 9 minor greek goddesses who were all about the performing arts. So some of todays famous singers, dancers, actresses, and writers would be like the muses. People like beyonce, J.K.Rowling, Ann Hathaway, and Sabrina Bryan would be like todays muses. Maybe even Ellen Degeneres!(there was a muse for comedy, Thalia)
Spirits don't exist.
Certain spirits, or ghosts, would get mad if you recorded them in some kind of way they didn't like. It really depends on the nature of the spirit, because spirits have personalities, because they are probably people who have died.
no some have good spirits, maybe

Mitchell and webb are stand up comedy artists that have the ability to make people laugh by just walking on the stage. They also do prop comedy on the side in some of their shows.
It depends on what artists music they have. Some artists leak there stuff on the internet, so downloading that kind of music is perfectly legal. Unless the music sites actually paid commercial artists to release their songs to the public then I am under the impression that it is illegal.
Some wood spirts are good and some are bad.... I think.
