Yes it is true. Cartooning goes way back to the days of George Washington, also the Civil War and all wars. To this day we often see political Cartoons in our newspapers. The idea started to keep the morale up of the Americans and Canadians and other countries that were involved in the war at the time. Propoganda is just a form of "stretching the truth" whether it be true or not. It was also said (but never proved) that there were codes in those cartoons re espionage. Later, many of these artists went on to do their work through comic book form such as the old Superman, etc., and some became writers. Marcy yes
