Click on blank document to make a new document. If you already have a document open and want to create a new document click file, new, blank document.
on standard toolbar ----> click new blank document
Type in..CTRL+N(PC) or Option+N (for Mac), a window will appear..adjust the size of your new blank document..and other relevent options..and click OK..and ur done..
If you click the blank area at the top of the window and drag you can move the current window. Another way to move a window is to hit the minimize button and to get it back just click the name of the window at the tool bar at the bottom of the window.

Right click on the taskbar (in a blank space) click properties and there should be an option on that window to change the taskbar's position
Assuming you mean newspaper-style columns down the page of a word-processing document...Open a blank worksheet. click on Format, then Page, then click the Columns tab in the pop-up window. You can then design the number, width and the spaces between each. Click OK when done, and just start typing.
