Is it true that there are gods on mount Olympus?

No. There is a reason why this category is called 'Greek and Roman MYTHOLOGIES', you know. Sorry about being so rash. It's just that so many people think that the myths are real!

What is mt olimpus?

Mt Olympus is a mythology mountain set at about 4000 feet. The people belived that all gods, espically Zeus, lived there. Zeus sometimes puts frost around the mountain when the gods are in private. That could be the answer of why there is frost around Mt Olympus still today, but do not worry that is not proven so it may not be true. Mount Olimpus is located in the Middle of Greece.

What does olimpic mean?

Good question, which I fear I can't answer. The Olympic Games are related to the town of Olympia and several mountains called Olympus or Olympos, which are all very prominent in their region. It is tempting to say the name must mean "Home of the Gods" or something similar (and that may well be true), but there is no modern Greek, English or other word like Olym or Pus which means Home or Gods. The Pous/Pus/Pos bit resembles words involving feet, or base, such as tripod or platypus, and the nearest Oli/Oly equivalent would seems to be the Olive tree. A wild speculation might be that the first Mount Olympus, wherever it was, arose from an area particularly rich in olives, and its name was not directly connected to its height or majesty. The connection between the name Olympus and the function Home of the Gods would be a coincidental association, but which later became the normal term for the abode of deities.

What is Athena hometown?

Athena doesn't really have a hometown because she was born from Zeus's head, fully grown and in battle armor. However she does live on Mount Olympus, with the other Greek gods. True, but we can not forget the Parthenon that was a temple to Athena, the patron goddess of the ancient city of Athens. By the way, the Parthenon housed a gigantic statue of Athena designed by Phidias and made out of cryselephantine and gold.
