Its a bit more complicated than that but that is basically their function.
Your white blood cells have that job.
The main function of white blood cells (also commonly referred to as leucocytes) is to defend against foreign invading pathogens that may enter the body. They do this as they are phagocytes, in that they engulf pathogens and destroy them. Therefore, the function of a white blood cell is to defend the body against infection.
The four basic barriers that prevent pathogens from entering the body are 1.The Skin 2. breathing passages 3.saliva in your mouth 4. Bacteria in your stomach They are important because they prevent infections and viruses.
usually they enter the body throught openings like the mouth and help white blood cells fight off pathogens, in return for some red blood cells
The spleen produces lymphocytes. As blood flows through the spleen, lymphocytes attack or mark pathogens in the blood. If pathogens cause an infection, the spleen may also release lymphocytes into the bloodstream.
They are known as killer T cells, which are a type of white blood cell that engulfs and digests foreign proteins/pathogens that enter the body. They work in conjunction with another type of white blood cell called Helper T cells which do the actual targeting of the pathogen/protein.
White blood cells
Whie Blood cells. they attack the bacteria and germs that enter your body. They are large cells that either produce anti-bodies or engulf microbes, but both result in the destruction of microbes.
Red blood cells carry oxygen throughout the body, while white blood cells are part of the immune system and attack foreign organisms that enter the body, like bacteria.
White blood cells will increase in number when you are sick. There are several types. Each will respond differently to the type of infection.1. Neutrophils are very active and are generally the first to attack bacteria at the site of an injury.2. Eosinophils main mode of attack is to excrete toxic compounds.3. Monocytes enter peripheral tissues to become tissue macrophages which can engulflarge particles and pathogens.4. Lymphocytes:a. T cells (cell-mediated immunity) attack foreign cells directlyb. B cells (humoral immunity) differentiate into plasma cells which synthesize antibodiesc. Natural killer (NK) cells detect and destroy abnormal tissue cells such as cancers
Blood contains red blood cells. Red blood cells don't contain blood. Blood does not enter the red blood cell.
