No, it is not weird to do so. However, most females do prefer older guys. I doubt that the age factor will have an impact on the relationship unless there is a very wide gap between the two ages -- say, a 10- or 20-year difference. Eighteen months is no big deal unless you make it one.

∙ 14y agoDepends how old you are. When you get into your twenties and thirties (and older) it is not uncommon to date people 5 or 10 years older/younger.
During your teenage years, it is a decent sized gap, but not outrageously large (particularly if the girl is the younger partner).
