It depends. If you are under wait then no it is not wrong. Also if you have normal weight for your height and age then it may be okay to put on muscle weight through exercise. But wanting to gain weight through fat is probably ill advised. Eating chips all day to gain weight is ill advised. Eating Cheetos all day is ill advised. If you want to get really fat and gain weight I would say you may want to consider counseling or Sumo Wrestling lessons. I am not a professional and I could probably use a little dieting and exercise myself. Maybe try health magazines. Get a nutrition guide and exercise.
If you want it to heal wrong, ignore the doctor and do whatever you want. Just be ready for a crooked leg or an operation.
