The only way to know who is online on RuneScape would be to have them added as a friend, though this sometimes has its own complications. For example, if you added a player as a friend who has their Private set to Friends, you would not see them online unless they have you added as a friend also.
Players who have their private turned Off are displayed as 'offline' regardless of whether or not they are online. Players who have their private set to All will appear online regardless of whether or not you are on their friends' list.
Asking for specific people's online status is very hard to say, especially since a) you have not exactly specified the player name of "kyler", and b) it's highly unlikely dozens of answerers here have the same "kyler" on their own friends list or even know this player.
No, it does not matter if you are logged on to Runescape or not, it takes the same amount of time for your membership to credit.
Your Account and your IP get logged off the Runescape servers.
Every player is immediately logged out during system updates, so there is possibly no chance of one still being logged onto runescape during system updates.
Try again later.
You don't really "play on Facebook"; you just associate a Facebook account with RuneScape. After that, if you are already logged in into Facebook, you can select RuneScape from there and don't need to login again.
The only way that FunOrb and RuneScape are related is that you can message your friends that are logged on a multiplayer game, and they can send you messages back. Another relationship is that AoG (Armies of Gielinor) is related to RuneScape. In fact, it is based on RuneScape.

The only way to play the original version of runescape is to have an active account when "runescape 1" was still running. An account is deemed active if the player has logged in within the last 6 months.
