If you don't get up for days at a time, yes, because you can develop bed sores.

update:

mentioned above is the LEAST of your worries! The average amount of sleep an adult should have is 7 hours (however, this varies from person to person). But if one were to sleep 8+ hours, they have almost a 17% risk of a SHORTENED LIFESPAN. the reason for this is unknown but has already been proved in surveys by the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan. People who sleep more than usual also have an increased chance of non-cardiovascular diseases. In addition to that, a person that sleeps too much is also more likely to become overweight.

In the short term, sleep deprivation cause people to lose efficient control over their mental processes and motor coordinations (kind of like when when you are drunk, only you are aware of whats going on around you). However, there are no long term side effects of sleep deprivation because your body go into what's known as microsleeps (sleeps which last anywhere from 1 second to 30 seconds whilst you are awake, which you aren't even aware of). This is why you will not die and such (unlike mice and other animals who unfortunately do not have this ability) So overall, not sleeping IS BAD because loss of proper mental processing and motor coordination can be dangerous especially when driving or crossing a road, but though this is the case, there are no known 'lasting effects' from having a lack of sleep.

I don't think so, you should get at least 7-9 hours of sleep. If you still feel tired during the day, have a 20 minute nap. No more than 20 because you will feel drowsy and lack energy. Hope that helped :)
