No, they are not. They are forms of energy, not matter. They are produced in chemical and nuclear reactions between atoms and molecules but increasing the pressure on a substance can also increase it's temperature without causing any reactions.

Light is made of tiny particles (though they also behave like waves, it can all get very confusing so I'm going to leave it alone :P) called photons.

Heat is really just how much the atoms or molecules in a substance are jiggling. If the atoms are jiggling a lot then we perceive the object to be hot, if they aren't jiggling much it's cold. When an atom or molecule absorbs some energy, it jiggles more. This is why some chemical reactions result in heat (eg, burning wood), the molecules formed have more energy than the molecules that reacted in the first place so the products are more jiggly- hotter. Heat can be radiated out from atoms too. Atoms don't like having more energy than their surroundings and if they do they release it, often in the form of infrared photons. If they have a lot of energy they can release it as visible light, this is why hot things glow red and really hot things glow white or blue. The Infrared photons emitted by hot things are invisible, you can't see them. But you can feel them! If you put your hand near a hot object you can feel that it's hot without touching it. This is because the infrared that's emitted by the jiggling atoms are absorbed by the atoms in your body giving them more energy and making them jiggle more. You feel this as your hand (or whatever else you have near the hot object) getting warmer.

Light is made of photons that have no rest mass and exist as an electromagnetic ripple in space-time. So No Light is Not Made Out Of elements and atoms.

No. In one model, light is a photon: a high-energy particle emitted by an atom. In the other model, light is an energy wave.

Are the electrons of an atom affected by temperature?

Temperature definitely affects the electrons of an atom, if the temperature is high enough. That is why fires produce light; the light you see from a fire is emitted by excited electrons.

Do atoms in an incandescent gas absorb or emit light?

When they exit their exited state. When an atom is bombarded by photons, it will often times absorb the photon. A photon is a unit of energy, so this energy is added to the atom, "extiting" it. However, atoms may only remain in ths excited state for a short period of time, and will eventually release the photon, reemiting it as light, and then the atom will return to its normal state.

An excited atom decays to it's ground state and emits a proton of green light if instead the atom decays to an intermediate state what could the light emitted be?

If an atom that emits a green proton when it decays to its ground state decays to an intermediate state instead it will emit a proton that is yellow/orange/red. The reason is that it will be a lower energy proton emitted and lower energy waves correspond to longer wavelengths like the ones that make up these colors.

How the wavelengths of light emitted by an atom provide information about electron energy levels?

First, calculate the energy of the photon by using the wave length and then see which the energy differences between electon levels. If it is equal, then it is the right transition The energy of a photon is proportional to its frequency

How long does it take for light to pass through a hydrogen atom?

How do you analyze the hammer in mysims agents?

When you view the screen you will see three atoms which are two light pink and one light purple atoms. You will begin by adding atoms that are in the lower part of the screen. First, add one green atom above the light pink atom and one green atom below the light purple atom. Next, add one green atom below the light pink atom, one green atom to the left of the light pink atom and then another green atom below the green atom you just added. Add three green atoms directly above the light purple atom. On the same three atom chain at the top, add a blue atom to the left of the green top atom. The light pink atom that is alone on the grid is next. You will add four blue atoms. They will be placed in the following order. One blue atom above the light pink atom, one blue atom below the light pink atom, one blue atom to the left of the blue atom and one blue atom to the right. This will complete your analyzation of the hammer.

What happen to light of certain frequency that encounters atoms of the same resonant frequency?

The light is absorbed by the atom and excites the atom.

Is it possible to see an atom using visible light?

No, it is not possible because the size of an atom is smaller than the wavelength of light.

Why can light travel through a vacumn?

That is because light is not an atom bumbing into the next atom (as in a sound wave), but changes in the electrical and magnetic fields. These can exist in empty space. That is because light is not an atom bumbing into the next atom (as in a sound wave), but changes in the electrical and magnetic fields. What happens to atoms and their electrons while the entity emits light?

The electrons of the atom move closer to the nucleus while the atom emits light.

When atoms gain energy they give it off as light. what part of the atom give off light?

There is actually no certain 'part' of the atom that gives off light. As you know, light is made out of photons. Photons are given off by the atom when it releases energy to get rid of the energy. I hope this helps!

WHAT IS Very light particle in an atom?

An electron.

When energy goes into an atom is light produced?

No

How do you generate light?

Light is generated when photons are emitted from an atom. This occurs when an electron on one energy level of an atom falls to a lower energy level.
