I've been on Loestrin 24 FE for 2 yrs now. Within the first year I gained 5-10 lbs. I'm not quite sure if it is because of the pill, but my eating and exercise habits have been the same, if not more rigorous since then. It's not muscle gain, that's for sure. I'm very noticeably chunkier. Birth control pills are known for their water retention effects. I don't much mind this weight gain though, I'm using the pill mainly to regulate my cycle. It depends on person to person. I have another friend who is on the pill but has lost significant weight since (different pill brand though).

Each body is different so the exact amount of time I cannot tell you. I'm on Femcon FE and it normall takes me about 2 days to start bleeding after the last pill is taken. The pill is in your system for apprx 24 hours so any time after that you can start bleeding. This is because your body does not actually have a period. Your body is really only bleeding because of the withdrawal from the hormones. Technically its disputed whethere this "fake period" is really necessary, but most doctors recommend the 7 day break (or three day on loestrin). But your body is completely controlled by the hormones.

i love loestrin24fe! it only lets me have 3 light days of period and some months i wont even have it at all. no cramps or bloating NOTHING. i have been on this for 6 months and have not had one side effect. my acne was moderate and that was the reason i went on bc in the first place. it has cleared me up. my skin is 100% clear! it feels like im not even taking birth control and i have naturally nice clear skin! Did i mention i love this pill!!! lol!!! however everybody's body is different!
