Not necessarily, although it can be. The dominant trait depends upon the breed of the dog. Golden Retrievers are dominant to have long hair, while Labradors are dominant to have smooth hair.
The only true way to get a long haired chihuahua is mom and dad to both be long haired. Once in a blue moon a long hair may pup up in a litter because of the hidden long hair gene that has to be within both parents. So, it can happen but I have never gotten a truly thick long hair chihuahua this way.
Yes. Wiener dogs are more naturally prone to dandruff.
If you leave it unclipped it will be long.
No. The dog has genes for long hair and cutting the dogs hair does not change the dogs genes. Any puppies the has may have short hair it depends on the genetics of the father of the puppies.
All dogs have hair, but if you mean LONG hair, only if the chihuahua was the long haired breed.
My Border Collies hair is pretty long. I would say about an inch off the ground under its belly.
dirty matted greasy long short ruffly cut smooth stylish
yes dogs do lose their hair after giving birth and it would last proably for six months.
there is really no difference.....most people say dog hair is what it is called when it falls off the dog and fur when it is on the dog...dogs with short fur/hair get less fleas then dogs with long fur/hair.... dogs also with white or light fur get more fleas then dogs with dark or black fur...
It really depends on how healthy the hair is because just pretend you have one short haired dog and one long haired dog and i have one short haired dog and one long haired dog. You take GREAT care of the long haired dogs fur and not as good care of the short haired dogs fur and i am just the opposite. My short haired dogs fur will be stronger than my long haired dogs fur and your long haired dogs fur will be stronger than your short haired dog. So it just depends on how you care for the hair.
We have learned over a very long time that the chromosomes carry genes that determine who we are and what we look like. Some genes are dominate and some are recessive. A person with a widow's peak hair line shows a dominate gene for hair line. He may also carry a gene for "round" hair line but it is recessive and not seen.
yes you can trim all dogs hair as it can be uncomfortable for some dogs to have long hair . but dont cut it to long as he/she might get cold
