Yes, the word love is used in the Quran. The word 'LOVING' is one of the attributes of God Almighty. *"He is The Forgiving ,The LOVING"(Ch85/V:14) *"My lord is the Merciful,The LOVING"(Ch11/V:90) According to the last Prophet Muhammed(peace be upon him).Out of God's Mercy. only one percent is given to this world and its creation.the remaining 99 percent is reserved for the creation in the next world(Herafter)

Love has given very much importance in the Quran , because it is one of the attributes of God almighty who revealed the Quran.In chapter 85 (Al Burooj) verse 14 we read HE is LOVINGsame idea isrepeated in Chapter11(Hood) verse 90:Askforgiveness of your Lord. He is forgiving and LovingGod's attributes are incomparable and siperior to that of creations (Chptr112). So his love and mercy are far superior indeed!
