Lupus can be wide spread, but most medication stops it from doing so.
Most Lupus cases have deterioration of the kidney and bladder functions.
But, I am not a doctor. Please refer to a rheumatologist.
It can. It affects everyone differently. While lupus may affect on a few areas on the body in one person, it can affect many areas of the body in another person. It can affect the Central Nervous System, heart, skin, kidneys, lungs, joints, muscles etc.
The physician will answer, "I can't tell you." Lupus is an unpredictable disease. It may affect several organs or systems, or it may affect no organ or system. The effects of lupus also change over time. There is no answer.
Lupus affects each person differently and cases can range from mild to life threatening. For some people, lupus affects primarily the joints and causes fatigue. For others lupus causees life threatening organ damage. For example, 50% of people with lupus have lupus nephritis (kidney disease). Some people have lupus that only affects the skin (cutaneous or discoid lupus).
Lupus can affect any part of the body or multiple parts of the body. If a person has discoid lupus, that is localized to the skin, usually the parts that are exposed to sun.
Lupus antibodies can affect every part of the body, although it usually seriously affects only one or a few parts at a time. Local effects are easier to deal with than systemic affects, which can sometimes be fatal.
Long term effects of lupus are entirely dependent upon the severity of the disease, how long the disease has been present, and the organs and tissues affected. Some lupus patients live full productive lives with normal life spans even though they have lupus. Other lupus patients live only days and die.
Not necessarily, but many lupus patients will gain weight due to an anti-inflammatory drug that they often take called Prednisone. This causes excessive weight gain. Sometimes lupus effects the digestive organs, resulting in digestive issues that cause weight loss. Often medications and other symptoms of lupus cause the patient to feel nauseous and vomit a lot, which is also another cause of weight loss due to lupus.

Lupus is not caused by a pathogen. Lupus is not contagious.
is lupus infectious
20 percent of people with lupus will have a parent or sibling who already has lupus or may develop lupus.
Cutaneous lupus which is often called discoid lupus.
Lupus nephritis is one of the common (40%) complications of systemic lupus erythematosus. The other types of lupus are neonatal (affecting newborns), discoid or cutaneous (affecting the skin and hair), and drug induced (which subsides when the offending drug is withdrawn). If you have lupus nephritis, then you have lupus.
There are no immunizations for lupus because lupus is not contagious. Immunizations protect you from pathogens. Lupus is not caused by a pathogen, therefore there is no possibility of immunization.
There is no lupus gene. At this point, researchers have found 30 loci (locations) on the human genome that are implicated in the development of lupus.
Systemic lupus erythematosus. This is the most serious form of lupus and affects about 70% of all persons with lupus
