ideally, yes. but you could say it's more like 100 100. both parties should give every effort to sustaining it by communication, companionship, moral support, trust, and loyalty. how you choose to divide the "chores" of living is negotiable as long as both people agree to their share. if it works between those two people, it works. marriage in which one person tries harder or does more is not equitable - not fifty fifty.
