yes it is for a price like 30$ or more a day,its like that in jail im assuming prisons the same
No that is not true. You have to be on a methadone program before going to jail to get methadone in jail. And then they will detox you in a certain amount of time. I was detoxed 5mg a day until zero.
Methadone is used to treat people who are addicted to opiates such as oxycontin. Many people enter treatment facilities and take methadone to help themselves to get off the opiates and eventually detox from the methadone.
Not likely.
heroin
because it causes the users to be addicted to another drug
Methadone is prescribed to people who are addicted to opiates and is also used for pain management in some cases.
That would be defeating the object. If you are on a drugs program, they will slowly reduce your Methadone prescription and provide other support if needed.
Please don't take it before you know what your doing. Methadone SHOULD NOT be taken recreationally. It is dangerous and addicting. I'm addicted myself and have done reports, taken classes, have other junky friends. I've seen it all with Methadone. Any other drug ask someone else, but I know my methadone. I go to a Methadone clinic.
When you get very uncomfortable if you don't take it.
Going from methadone to Suboxone will make you sick. Going the other way will not make you sick. However, long exposure to the narcotic antagonist in Suboxone will have made you far more sensitive to opiates like methadone. There is a good chance of overdose. The methadone should be phased in slowly, starting with much lower doses than normal. A better idea: get detoxed from the Suboxone if necessary, and get REALLY clean. Why go from one addiction to another? Addicted is still addicted. Don't you want to be free of all that?
There are a couple of scenarios that come to mind. One is when you are given drugs for an addiction to other drugs. Someone may start out addicted to heroin and end up addicted to methadone from the clinic. Another situation is when someone has severe pain and they get addicted to narcotic pain medication.
You will need to get your child to an E.R. immediately. Methadone withdrawl in infants can be deadly. As a warning tho, the doctors are required by law to contact social services.
It depends on the person. In most people, usually not. Methadone has receptor-blocking properties and will clog up your opiate receptors blocking out most other opiates. But it is still possible to feel other opiates on such a low dose of MEthadone, depending on your Methadone tolerance.
