Well, that depends on who you are. US law considers it punishment... some people, morally, consider it murder. Other people agree with the law that it is a just punishment for certain kinds of crime.

It depends. Sometimes it is, sometimes its a life sentence. If you were to brutally murder three people or something, if the jury was in any way fair, you would get capital punishment.

But I've heard murder for revenge can sometimes just get you a life sentence (I learned this from TV, so don't hold me to it)

There was that one case, dot remember exactly. It was in another country but the guy shot everybody on an island or something. (Don't watch news often) he got twenty-some years in a cushy prison cuz that's the maximum sentence in that country.
