the 6 bolt came in the 90 to 92 2.0 talon. the 7 bolt came in the 93 to 94 2.0 talon and the 95 to 99 2.0 turbo talon. the 6 bolt is better.
Just an addon the 92 also can have a 7 bolt motor. If it was manufactured before April of 1992 then it is a 6 bolt anything after that date it will be a 7 bolt. I have had two 1992 stock talons and both have had 7 bolts in them.
ALLLLL 2g Turbo DSMs, (95-99 Eclipse and Talon) have the 7 bolt motor.UNLESS someone swapped in a 6 bolt from a 90-92.5. I have read that the 92.5-94 had a 7 bolt as well but I can NOT deem this valid.yes the 92.5-94 have a seven bolt main too
1995 is considered 2nd generation, and all 2nd gens. have 7 bolt
yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
6 bolts on my tsi 1993 Jean 90-94 6bolt 95-99 7bolt
You have a 1 gen Dsm so that means you have a 6 bolt motor already, 7 bolt didn't come till 2 gen dsm's
6-bolt 4g63 engine (1st gen dsm motor) 2nd gen can be adapted to fit (7 bolt 4g64)
7 Bolt, check the oil pan, if it dents in, then its 7 bolt, if smooth surface, its 6 bolt.
1990-1999 Talon/Eclipse=5x114.3 (4.5)
5.25
depending on the year, im guessing you have the 7 bolt engine. all 7 bolt engines are known for crankwalk its called. it causes lagging and hesitation off the line and when you punch the gas pedal.
Talon Dunbar is 5' 7".
yes you can, i have a 1992 eagle talon tsi awd turbo, and i also have a 98 talon tsi and since the 95-98 mmodels have a 7 bolt pattern, im sure you know, crank walk etc, i threw in a 2.0 engine into my 98 modded the hell out of it to, super easy, great fit, go for it
