I dont know wat FINGERTOE nails are but:
Finger nails: its fine to wear nail polish on your finger nails. Dont keep it on for a long period of time because your nails will yellow ( which is NOT a pretty sight )
Try using nail hardeners by Sally Hansen. They worked for me and my nails are now LONG!!!
Toe Nails: Toe are fine to paint. There actually easier to paint then finger nails. Once again you can use nail hardeners and that will make them stronger but remember to take it off in a couple of weeks so your toe nails wont turn YELLOW!

Open the bottle of nail polish and you will see a brush attached to the lid. Wipe off the drops of nail polish on the side of the inside. Use the nail polish as a paintbrush and paint the polish on your nails. Enjoy!
nail polish is a substance applied to fingernails and toenails to improve the appearance of the nails and also to help protect the nails.
Nail polish does tend to chip very easily, and can look messy by the end of a week of having it on. There are a few things you can do to help it stay on longer. Before applying nail polish, wipe your nails with nail polish remover to help remove the oils in your nails, this will help the nail polish adhere to the nails. Put on a base coat. Apply two coats of your favourite nail polish. Put on a top coat.
This is a very good question, and shows you are enquisitive and thoughtful. It stays on your nails because it has a strong acid; hydrogen peroxide, which corrodes your nails (only by 0.0001 mm) and sticks on because it is a type of enamel. The fact it corrodes the nail may seem scary, but it does explain why your nails weaken: as your nail is corroded by 0.0001 mm, if you put the polish on your nails 10,000 times, you would have corroded a whole mm of nail. As your nail is approx. 1 mm, this is a freaky thought. This is why nail experts suggest you use a special type of polish without the h. peroxide, which doesn't corrode.I hope this helps
