It's a brown nut, with a grayish tint.
Nutmeg is the hard, aromatic seed of the fruit of an East Indian tree called Myristica Fragrans. The seed is used in grated form as a spice.
Nutmeg comes from the fruit of a 50 ft (15 m) tall tropical evergreen tree. The bark is smooth and grayish brown with green young branches and leaves. The oblong, fleshy fruit, contains the nutmeg nut.
It really depends on the size of the nutmeg "nut". Ground nutmeg is just the nut ground up, so one "nut" probably weighs around 2 grams, although it depends on it's size and density. If you plan on eating this for the effect I would recommend grinding it up and putting the powder inside of a piece of cheese or even bread to make a sort of pill and then swallow that whole, because the taste is similar to baked ass.
Ground nutmeg does not grow from anywhere, it actually comes from the nutmeg pit which comes from a tree. You can take this nut or pit and grind it in a food processor, or a spice grinder to make it fine so that you can sprinkle it on food.
