The Subaru Legacy is unique in its class because it does indeed have a standard all-wheel-drive system (AWD).
theres a fuse labeled 4wd in main fuse box under the hoodpull that
Subaru currently has the most advanced AWD system.
in the engine bay. Passenger side. Near the strut tower.
Perhaps there is a fuse in the fwd fuse box under the hood?
Permanently Removing AWDno Yes and no, you can make it front wheel drive with a fuse. Under the hood on the passenger side between the strut tower and the firewall there is a small fuse holder that reads FWD(Front Wheel Drive) pop any fuse in and your set.Ignore this idiot, he has no friends.
It's not in the fuse box. Looking at the engine from the front it's in the top corner, marked FWD. You open it up and bam, there it is.
Im not sure if this is your problem but the fuse to switch from awd to fwd is ground not hot. So if the wire is skinned somewhere and grounding out it could cause that.
Put a fuse in the circuit labeled "FWD" under the hood on the passenger side.
Simply put...you don't. They are always awd.
passenger side of firewall, near strut mount under the platic clip that reads FWD.
