The typical box of powdered sugar in U.S. supermarkets is one pound (16 ozs.)
Usually one pound of powdered sugar is in a box. Which is about 2 cups.
Powdered sugar is a delicious topping for many foods including funnel cake. There are two cups of sugar in a one pound box.
If 1 box of confectioners' sugar is one pound then one box is about $2.50
A pound is a weight measure, not a volume measure. So you would just pour the powdered sugar into a container on a scale to come up to one pound (allowing for the container), or just buy/obtain a one-pound box.
I believe they are 1 pound boxes
google the weight of one cup of powdered sugar. It is about 125 grams. How many times can 125 grams go into 1 pound?453.59237_/_125_=_3.62873896">453.59237 / 125 = 3.62873896a little over 3 and a half cups of sugar in a one pound box of powdered sugar.google is great.well i think i am wrong :))
A one pound box of anything has 16 ounces.
A pound is 16 oz, so that's 8 x 2 oz.
Number of CupsThere are about 3 1/2 to 4 cups of powdered sugar in a pound. But this depends on the sugar's humidity, moisture, and density. Sifting adds air and increases volume, therefore sifted powdered sugar would be less dense than unsifted.3 1/2 cups unsifted powdered sugar = 1 pound4 cups sifted powdered sugar = 1 pound2 cups
I have seen powdered sugar in at least 3 different size boxes. Be more precise please.
This is very strange. I checked the back of a box of C & H powdered sugar and it said there were 15 "servings" per box, each a quarter of a pound, so according to that box, 3 3/4 cups per pound. I double checked the store brand, it also had 15 "servings" per box, but said each serving was 0.125 of a cup, or an eighth of a cup, which would mean just under 2 cups per pound. I checked the 2 lb. bag of store brand powdered sugar, and it said there were 30 units of .25 cups, which would mean 7.5 cups per bag, and 3 3/4 cups per pound. I have to assume there is an error on the back of the pound box of the store brand, and the correct answer is in fact approx. 3 3/4 cups per pound.
