Paranoia can become a symptom of AS (more oftenly during teen years as they become more aware of themselves in public).
Paranoia is not a rare thing for people with AS as some may have it due to not being able to understand what to do in a social event.
It is not a symptom but insecurity can arise from symptoms of AS such as having trouble recognizing gestures, understanding what to do in social situations and having repeatitive behaviors.
Paranoia Vera is not a symptom, but a syndrome. The term is out of fashion, but those who studied it said that it was distinct from paranoid schizophrenia, in that it consisted of paranoid delusions without any other signs of schizophrenia.
Paranoia could certainly make you unsure that you did or did not do something. It is also a symptom of obsessive compulsive disorder that paranoid people can also have.
Anyone can worry. So I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a sign of Aspergers, yet, from personal experence, the people I have known with Aspergers do seem to worry more than a lot of other people.
The usually symptom of schizophrenia is sensing (any of the five snese) of something that doesnt exist or is present. Other syptoms can vary as there are different forms of schizophrenia but common signs are paranoia, confusion and irritation. Also, avoiding people is common with the paranoid schizophrenic. Aspergers does not have this. Instead AS is noted for the individual to be socially awkward (doenst know what to do) and having strong interests with specific things. AS is a high functioning austism and the individual does not need medication (unless they have severe ADHD, depression or anxiety) where as schizophrenics usually need to take medication to help keep their senses "in order".
It is a more severe version of aspergers
Close, asburgeres sounds similar to aspergers. Asburgeres specifically does not exist but aspergers does. Other names for aspergers is asperger(s) syndrome and autistic psychopathy which is the original name for aspergers.
People with Asperger's suffer from severe depression, but it affects them in different ways. You need to see a therapist to find out if you REALLY have Asperger's
Paranoia can be translated as Verfolgungswahn or Paranoia.
Aspergers is not a mentall illness it is not a diesease you can,t catch aspergers by being around someone with aspergers. People with aspergers are born with it. Although aspergers affects the way people think and veiw the world it is not a diesese. Recent aspergers studies have shown that in brains of people with aspergers there is a difference in the way the brain is wired and set up. and there have also been studies of aspergers brain waves and it showed the brain waves of people with aspergers differed from nerotypical brain waves. Just because people with aspergers think differently does not make them mentally ill there is a huge difference between the two.
Aspergers Society of Ontario was created in 2000.
I dont know that Aspergers is a sickness. It is said usually that someone is "gifted" with Asperger. That means it is a blessing. Many Aspergers say that they wouldnt trade Aspergers with a neurotypical life. I dont think Aspergers is a sickness.
The character of Sherlock Holmes does indeed display some characteristics of Aspergers Syndrome with obsessive attention to detail, lack of empathy and social skills including a genius-like intelligence. One symptom in particular is "being preoccupied with only one or few interests, which he/she may be very knowledgeable about" is right on-target in describing the detective.
