This serves as both their circulation and their movement (remember, all animals move.) Endotherms (warm-blooded organisms) regulate their body temperature by altering metabolism. Ectotherms (cold-blooded organisms) regulate their body temperature by behavior such as warming on a hot rock, or seeking shade to cool off. Sponges don't regulate their body temperature at all, therefore they can't be either.
