"Fireproof" is a little ambiguous (as, for that matter, is "pink insulation.").
I believe that Owens-Corning holds a trademark on the color pink for insulating materials, but they make several types in that color.
Fiberglas insulation (the pink fluffy stuff) is non-flammable ... the paper backing can burn, but the pink part is, basically, glass, and just melts without burning. It's not "fireproof" because, as mentioned, it WILL melt if the temperature gets high enough.
The pink foam sheets are polystyrene (basically, styrofoam) and are nowhere near fireproof in any sense.
If something is fireproof it means fire won't burn through it.
yes
yes
That depends on the thing you want to make fireproof. Usually things come already fireproof, if they are meant to be. Most times you can not make things entirely fireproof yourself. If you meant Fireproof the movie, then the issue why you can not see it may be with your DVD player, or perhaps the disc is scratched. If you meant fireWALL and the setting for your router, then you should see your router´s manual for the optimal settings, as all routers have their own setting I can not guesswork what router you have.
Refractory insulation is defined as insulation for extremely high temperatures. The threshold of temperature of insulation for refractory insulation is > 815 Celsius.
Fiberglass is not combustible; at high temperature fiberglass is melted.
Yes. It is actually used as a firestop or block in buildings.
branding. the major manufacturer of insulation is called "pink panther" and so now that's what people look for. not all insulation is pink though
Fire safes are made from inert materials, meaning that they do not 'react' with flame, essentially making it fireproof. Any form of insulation is also used to protect the contents within.
Probably Insulation...
no.
insulation :) insulation is used to keep eather heat or lack of it inside a building saving on heating and cooling costs. also some forms of it when contacted can cause one an itchy feeling. <><><><> Agree. This type of insulation is usally called fiberglass. It is very fine strands of glass that resemble cotton. It is fireproof, does not rot, and bugs do not eat it. It does a good job of creating air spaces that limit movement of heat.
Not if you can convince them it's cotton candy
