Is pizza considred junkfood

Eaten now and again it is OK, eaten several times a week it becomes junk food.


The term "Junk Food" means food with little or no nutritional value; or so heavily laden with salt, oil, or sugar that whatever nutritional value it may have is negated; things like candy and potato chips for instance.

Common Pizza ingredients come from all the food groups and can be quite nutritious in the right combinations. However Pizza tends to have a lot of oil as a required part of the cooking process; and some pizza combinations can be quite nutritionally unbalanced. Therefore you cannot have a healthy diet eating pizza alone. However, if eaten in moderation and balanced by other nutritional foods, there is no reason why pizza can't be part of a normal healthy diet.
