What type of energy is contained in a power stations fuel supply?

Renewable energy

What names of the non renewable energy are used in power stations are?

Oil and Coal.

What does Australia use wind energy for?

Wind energy is harnessed to produce renewable electricity. This replaces non-renewable electricity from greenhouse-gas-polluting fossil fuel power stations.

Are biomass power stations just another word for nuclear power stations?

No, nothing to do with nuclear. Biomass means vegetable matter grown for burning, and comes under Renewable Energy as it can be regrown every season.

How can people save money by using renewable energy at home?

If you use renewable energy then you aren't using the energy generated in power stations so fossil fuels aren't being burned to create energy which coats a lot of money, where as renewable energy is basically free apart from the equipment you need to transfer the energy into useful energy such as sunlight is free and so is wind.

Is wave energy a renewable source of energy?

Yes, wave energy (hydro-power) is a renewable source of energy.

Is a Coal Fired Power Stations renewable or non-renewable?

Coal is a non-renewable fossil fuel. When it is burnt, you have to find more for tomorrow.

Does a wave power station use renewable energy?

Yes, wave power is renewable.

Is solar power a renewable resouce?

yes solar power is a renewable force of energy

What is a power station?

A power station is a facility that converts some form of mechanical, chemical, or nuclear energy into electrical energy. The electrical energy generated is commonly called the "power". Mechanical sources of energy at power stations generally include wind and water. Chemical sources almost always involve the burning of a fuel, such as coal, natural gas, and gasoline. Nuclear power stations generally only use Uranium (U235). Other sources of energy include geothermal, solar, and tidal. Except for direct energy-to-energy conversion systems, such as photovoltaic (solar) cells, power is almost always generated by harnessing the mechanical, chemical, or nuclear energy to rotate a generator shaft, and the generator converts the rotational mechanical energy into electricity. Mechanical power stations harness this energy directly when a windmill spins in the breeze, or when a turbine spins as falling water passes through it. Chemical and nuclear generators usually heat water into steam, and then drive the high-pressure steam through turbines which turn the generators. Energy sources for power generation are often grouped into renewable and non-renewable categories. Renewable energy power generation stations do not consume the source of energy. A hydroelectric (water) power generation station, for example, does not consume the water that drives the turbines - the water continues along its route and ultimately rejoins the ecosystem. Similarly, solar power, geothermal power, and wind power do not consume the sources of energy. Non-renewable energy sources are consumed by the power station. Coal and Uranium, for example, are consumed by the power stations, and the Earth's total reserves of that material is permanently depleted by the amount consumed.

What is one renewable source of energy?

One renewable source of energy is solar energy. You can get solar energy from using solar panels. The Renewable Sources of Energy are: Solar Power Hydro Electricity Wind Power Biomass Geothermal

What other type of renewable resource is water power like?

Water power is like wind, thermal heat, and solar power all renewable.
