Prostate massage is only recommended for prostate health issues, such as enlarged prostate (BPH) or prostatitis (prostate inflammation).

Due to the potential risk of releasing prostate cancer cells that can spread to the body, it is not recommended that men with prostate cancer perform prostate massage.

Would it be harmful to a woman having an intercourse to a prostate patient?

I don't believe so. Then again, this question should be directed towards your doctor. When you say prostate patient, do you mean he is afflicted with cancer? If so, cancer is not contagious, and it won't affect the woman. Don't take my advice to heart, as well as anyone else on here, ASK YOUR DOCTOR. Wish you the best.

What is the life expectancy of some one with prostate cancer?

Life expectancy and the need for treatment after a diagnosis of prostate cancer will depend on whether the cancer has left the prostate gland, the Gleason score of the biopsy, the number of cores that are positive and the percentage of tumor cells in each positive core. Although prostrate cancer is often a more slowly progressing cancer when compared to other cancers, it is still lethal. Second only to lung cancer, it is the largest cancer killer of men with Twenty seven thousand (27,000) dieing this year alone from prostate cancer.

What prostate cancer tests are currently available and what is their accuracy?

Digital Rectal exam; blood test for PSA level; transrectal biopsy. Only the biopsy can tell for sure if cancer is present. And it is not 100% accurate as the biopsy needle may miss the cancer on the first sampling. The test may need to be done again a few months down the road.

What is an enlarged prostate?

An enlarged prostate is a condition in which your prostate is increased in size. This is common when you reach your 50s. It is also called the non-cancer growth of prostate gland.Researches have noticed that 50 % of males experience the symptoms of benign enlarged prostate when they reach their 60s.Answer:The prostate gland has two periods of major growth. The first is at adolescence and the second is around the age of 30 when the prostate starts growing again. By the time a man reaches the age of 40 this growth may increase the size of the prostate gland so much that it starts pushing against the urethra. An aging prostate is usually associated with urinary discomforts. Doctors do not know why this happens, but attribute it to hormonal changes.

Why is a supine hypotensive syndrome a contraindication to massage?

It is not a contraindication for massage at all. It is a contraindication for being in a supine, and even a prone, position. If the massage therapist is trained properly, they will know how to do a sidelying position massage that will be safe. Again, it is not the massage that is contraindicated, but the position that most people have on the massage table. Sidelying resolves the issues with supine hypotensive syndrome so there should be no problem for you to receive a massage, just lie on your side, or even better, just on your left side.
