It depends on what you want to do. Intercession on behalf to God is not done by science, so religion has the default highest effectiveness there. In terms of spiritual work, science has a fingerhold, but religion is again the main player. For anything regarding a god or gods, and their many acts and representatives, you are best off visiting the nearest priest, rabbi, imam, guru, or whatever other clerical firgure you deem to be knowldegeable. However, if you want to do or have anything requiring technology above the level of the Stone Age, science would crush religion hands-down.
Religion is not a science.
Incredible inventions are underway in the science world that fascinated. One wild invention is that of a 1000 more light sensitive sensor for partial sights.
Alternative medicine is not more effective because it is based on culture and not science
Albert Einstein said, "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind" in his 1954 essay "Science and Religion." In the essay, he emphasized the importance of understanding and integrating both science and religion for a more holistic view of the world.
philosophy is much more broad based in the structure of knowledge whereas religion and science are methods.
Sadly, no.
Neither. Religion and science go hand in hand, depending on what religion you practice. The Christian religion believes that God created the earth and everything in it, so in their view science is the very thing that proves there is a God. But it's all in opinion.
Religion is a very complicated subject, since there are many different religions, and each religion is subject to many different interpretations. Science is much more unified. I would say that there are at least some interpretations of religion which are compatible with science. There are also interpretations of religion which are incompatible with science. The choice is yours.
Science and technology work best together—science explains how things work, while technology applies that knowledge to solve problems. Neither is more effective alone; their impact depends on the goal.
I would say no. All of the knowledge that is global warming is more religion and politics... and allot of comedy. An abuse of science.
Science forms theories, the church lies when they are proven wrong. Pretty simple.
Questions that ask about opinions can't be answered with science. As a teacher, I have students rephrase their question more specifically so that it can be answered by science. Their proposed answer to the question is their hypothesis. This is why science cannot demonstrate religion as a hoax, as much as atheists would like to believe it. Unfortunately for believers, science cannot demonstrate the truth of religion either. Religion is one of those regions beyond the pale of science.
