Depending upon where you go to get the gel nails for your daughter, I would say yes. If you go to a shop that is cheap; where they do not understand the English language; where they use files, buffers and all implements from client to client without sanitizing in a hospital grade disinfectant, then it is NOT safe for your 12 year old. You will spend more money if you go to a REPUTABLE salon, but you will know that your daughter is not going to wind up with an infection of some sort. Think MRSA right now. Also, you need to know if it is TRUE gel product. Many discount shops say they are gel when it really is not. Go to my website: http://salon29.tripod.com and link to the What Is On Your Nails? and read about what products are out there. Good luck with your choices. buenos dias, Lynnette Salon 29 East Greenville PA
Yes they are safe for 11 year olds. I am a salon gal and lots of 11,12 and even 13 year olds get gel nails. It's very common with little aged girls of what they want. The gel won't ruin the nail even on kids and will be a delight to have on a kid like yours! Hope you like the decision you made. The gel nails are very popular right now so hurry up and get them before they make something new you really want or they will be not as popular any more for your kids! Thanks Anne
NO at this early age the nails are no full developed and may be dangerous to be exposed to the radiation of UV light, also in order to the gel polish to stick into the nail plate required to the cuticles to be remove it and on a child is no recommended to cut because can be infected or exposed to infections the nail plate need to be buff and remove a layer is no recommended at all. Normally cause irritation after gel polish removal to adult can you imagine a little one. I am a Nail technician with 15 years of experience and i been doing all kind of nail services and this kind of service is only for adult with a special life style.
Thanks

I would say yes... I'm 12 and really wanted to grow my nails out :) So i just bought a do it yourself kinda nail thing... I've seen a box set at a toy store and in the girls isle, there was a fake nail kit for 12+... So I would say yes :) Just make sure they aren't too long, that's for older teens :) xx
Oh and it helped me grow my nails out, and I LOVE them (my natural nails) :)
Yes, buy I don't think any one in the nail salon would do it for you unless you do it at home !
Father is the best hero for every girl child and you can use any type of nail polish to paint her nails without regards to her age.
No
You can get gel nails at any age, from that I know of.

It is easiest to trim gel nails to the desired length before applying them, but they can also be trimmed after they are complete. They can be clipped and shaped like real nails.

yes
The application of the UV gel nails could lead to forms of sun damage. And the removal of these nails is often done with acetone, which makes your real nails very thin and could cause infections.
put acrylic gel on them.
Some gel nails contain a chemical called methyl acrylate. Others also contain the chemical, butylated hydroxyanisol. Ultra violet light is used is used to set gel nails. The main chemical components that allow gel nails to work are photoinitiators (PI) Different gel nails use different PI's.
Gel overlays are nail gel which are layered over the natural nails or can be used like acrylic (with tips - gel extensions) which helps the natural nail to grow stronger and look nicer. Gel comes in various colors and you they last upto 2-4 weeks depending on where you have them done. Gel is not as long-lasting as acrylic is, however gel is a better looking.
Gel and acrylic nails have similar results. They can lengthen short nails, strengthen nails, and make your fingers look longer and more slender. There are some various pros and cons that might help you decide which the right choice is for you. If gel nails, acrylic nails, and other choices are overwhelming you, then one thing you can always do is speak with a nail technician (manicurist) who can help you make a wise decision that will fit your needs Phoebe x x x
