vellallars are warriors like Nairs...after they reach in kerala many time with chera chola and some them keep relation with king family. they have kindom in tamil long ago. As chetti pillai came from tamil nadu and the vayanadu kings drived at tamil kindom from kerala . vellalas returned and rest of them get less value and same time chetty pillai started business and after a long time kerala kings call back saiva pillai to supervise teh construction fo kerala temples. finally the both pillais are considered as chetti pillai... but really they are different chetti and chettiyar from vaisha and saiva pillai/ saiva vellala pillais are from kshatriya. some places they so called chetti pillai. relation between nairs they ARE With NSS in some places and some other keeping their own sabha. apart from that relation and friendships are keeping with nairs all places in kerala
