Salt dissolving in water is a chemical change, the white residue is left when the water gets saturated by the salt and the salt starts to come out of solution to gain equilibrium. The residue can also be left behind when boiling off the water.

What are the ways that burning changes the nature of wood?

Burning causes a physical and chemical change to wood. The physical change comes from the cellulose in the cell walls undergoing incomplete combustion and leaving behind ash and charred residue. The chemical changes that occur happen when the organics undergo complete combustion and turn into carbon dioxide and water vapor.

What is fossil carbonization?

It is the carbon residue remaining from the organism or part of an organism that has been fossilized. Essentially what happens is that the organism is buried within a layer of sediment which solidifies. A chemical reaction takes place in which many of the elements that compose the organism are converted to gases and driven off, leaving behind a carbon residue (distillation) - and an outline of the original material.

Is sugar burning in a pan chemical or physical change?

Burning Sugar is a chemical change. Burning or oxidization is always a chemical change. The process takes in Oxygen and Sugar and outputs different compounds including water, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and other carbon residue. Explanation 2: Chemical changes are changes in what things are made out of. Physical changes are like ice melting ice and liquid water are still water one is a solid but the other is liquid. steam is a gas but is still water. these changes do not change what water is.
